¡Por llegar el bebé real! ¡Los londinenses están alborotados!

Royal Baby: Excited Londoners Await Birth, Place Bets on Baby's Name

ABC News' Mary Pflum reports:
The countdown is on. All of London is abuzz with excitement at the imminent birth of the child of Britain's Kate Middleton and Prince William.
"It's uplifting," one woman said, adding that the birth of the couple's first child was "something to look forward to."
Added one man: "We look for any excuse to raise a pint. Any excuse. Cheers to the royal baby!"
But the excitement isn't limited just to London. The rest of the world is watching and waiting.
In Canada, the government has announced plans to cast a pink or blue light onto Niagara Falls when the baby's gender is announced.
The falls' keepers may be in for a wait. William is scheduled to play in a charity polo match on Sunday in Gloucestershire, which is situated about hour's drive outside of London, where his wife will give birth at St. Mary's Hospital.
The Duke of Cambridge's polo plans have fueled speculation that the baby won't arrive until next week, but that hasn't stopped people from placing their bets on the baby's birth date and name at William Hill, a prominent British betting establishment.
Bettors are going with Alexandra, Charlotte and Victoria as the most popular girls' names, and have picked George as the most popular name for a future king.
Coming in at the bottom the baby name betting list are names such as Chardonnay and Peaches, which are both long shots with odds of 1,000 to 1. http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/royal-baby-excited-londoners-await-birth-place-bets-114250809.html

¡Banquetas que absorven el esmog son reales!

Yes, Smog-Eating Sidewalks Are a Real Thing * Yahho

The eco-makeover of urban surfaces continues. First camewhite roofs. Then so-called cool pavement. And now smog-eating concrete.
Yup, sidewalks with a taste for filthy air.
Eindhoven University of Technology scientists have installed air-purifying cement onto a city block in Hengelo, Netherlands and published the results, which found that it reduced nitrogen oxide air pollution up to 45 percent in ideal weather conditions. This is an average reduction of 19 percent each day.
The concrete, dubbed “photocatalytic,” is made with run of the mill cement sprayed with a chemical—titanium oxide—that neutralizes air pollutants, the researchers’ abstractstates.
"[The concrete] could be a very feasible solution for inner city areas where they have a problem with air pollution," said researcher Jos Brouwers in 2010 to CNN, when the pavement was in its early stages.
So, what's the world waiting for? Why aren't urban jungles with smog problem—we're especially looking at you, Beijing—not jackhammering every piece of old school pavement and pouring the new stuff?
Well, like most public work projects, it all comes down to cost. Titanium dioxide pavement is simply more expensive than your grandfather's cement.
But, with further product tinkering and price–reduction, air-scrubbing pavement could be the stomping ground of the future.

¡Bebé de 14 meses compra auto con el smartphone de su papi!

Toddler Buys Car Using Father’s Smartphone * Yahoo

Last month Sorella Stoute from Portland, Oregon, purchased a 1962 Austin-Healey Sprite on eBay. Now, this might not sound like much of a story, until you learn that Sorella is only 14 months old. Here's what happened. The tiny online shopper was playing with her father Paul Stoute's smartphone when she inadvertently opened the eBay app and purchased the rundown car for a little over $200 from a seller in nearby Tualatin, Oregon.
Sorella's dad first learned of the purchase of the car, nicknamed "Franken Sprite," via an eBay confirmation email. At first he was shocked and panicked but in the end decided to keep the car and fix it up, saying, "I've done a lot of bodywork in the past … but this is another realm altogether." Stoute added that he felt lucky Sorella picked a car on the cheaper end of the spectrum, saying he was glad she didn't click on the $38,000 Porsche he had also been looking at.
Paul Stoute set up a Smarty Pig crowdfunding page to raise money to restore the Franken Sprite, and he does not need to worry about Sorella's next purchase; he installed facial recognition technology and a new PIN code on his phone. He said he might give the fixed-up ride to Sorella for her 16th birthday or graduation.
